Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Programs
ni-msme conducted a training programme on capacity building for SERP officials in Rural Women Entrepreneurship Development Strategies for Batch-7 & Batch-8, supported by SERP, held from 5 to 9 January 2026
The National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (ni-msme), Hyderabad, conducted a one-week training programme titled “Capacity Building for SERP Officials on Rural Women Entrepreneurship Development Strategies” for Coordinators (CCs) of Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP), Government of Telangana, from 5 to 9 January 2026 at the ni-msme campus, Hyderabad. The programme was sponsored by SERP, Government of Telangana, and two batches of CCs were trained during January 2026.
A total of 45 CCs in Batch-7 and 47 CCs in Batch-8 successfully completed the programme.
The programme was directed by Dr. E. Vijaya, Director – SEM, and co-directed by Rajendra Prasad, Faculty Member – SEE.
The training was designed to strengthen the competencies of CCs in the domain of Micro Enterprise Development, equipping them with the requisite knowledge and practical skills to effectively support rural Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in their entrepreneurial initiatives.
The primary objective of the programme was to develop a cadre of trained professionals capable of providing sustained handholding support for the establishment of new micro enterprises and the expansion of existing ones. As a result of the training, the CCs are now better positioned to foster an entrepreneurial culture among rural SHGs in their respective Mandals, thereby contributing to the growth, sustainability, and long-term success of women-led enterprises across the region.
